Basic Bechamel Sauce Recipe
A simple and classic bechamel sauce, perfect for lasagnas, mac and cheese, or as a base for other sauces.

Main Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon Butter
- 2 tablespoon All-purpose flour
- 2 cups Milk preferably whole milk
- to taste Salt
- to taste Ground nutmeg
Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
Add the flour and whisk constantly for about 2 minutes, until it forms a smooth paste.
Gradually add the milk, whisking continuously to avoid lumps.
Bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
Season with salt and a pinch of nutmeg to taste.
