Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef bones preferably with marrow
  • 1 onion quartered
  • 2 cloves garlic smashed
  • 2 carrots carrots chopped
  • 2 stalks celery chopped
  • 2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon pepper to taste
  • 12 cups water

Instructions 

  1. 1. Place the bones in a large stockpot and cover with water. Add the vinegar and let sit for 30 minutes.
  2. 2. Add the onion, garlic, carrots, and celery to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
  3. 3. Simmer for at least 8 hours, skimming any foam that rises to the top.
  4. 4. Strain the broth through a fine-mesh strainer and discard the solids.
  5. 5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Let cool before storing in the refrigerator or freezer.
