Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups Chickpeas cooked or canned
  • 1 large Onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 inch Ginger grated
  • 2 cups Tomatoes chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 tablespoon Cilantro chopped, for garnish

Instructions 

  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
  3. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  4. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, cook for another minute.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften.
  6. Add turmeric, coriander powder, and salt. Stir well.
  7. Add chickpeas and water. Bring to a boil.
  8. Reduce heat and let it simmer for 20 minutes.
  9. Stir in garam masala and cook for another 5 minutes.
  10. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot.
