- 1 whole chicken cleaned and cut into pieces
- 2 medium carrots peeled and chopped
- 2 stalks celery chopped
- 1 large onion peeled and quartered
- 3 cloves garlic peeled
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 8 cups water
1. Place the chicken pieces in a large pot.
2. Add the carrots, celery, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper.
3. Pour in the water and bring to a boil.
4. Reduce heat and simmer for about 2 hours.
5. Strain the broth and discard the solids.
6. Let the broth cool and store in the refrigerator or freezer.
