butter

chicken broth

heavy cream

Instructions
1. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
2. Add the asparagus pieces and cook for another 5 minutes.
3. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until the asparagus is tender, about 15 minutes.
4. Use a blender to puree the soup until smooth. Return the soup to the pot.
5. Stir in the heavy cream and season with salt and pepper to taste. Heat through, but do not boil.
6. Serve hot and enjoy!
