Ingredients

  • 1 lb green beans trimmed
  • 2 cups white vinegar
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic peeled
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon dill seeds

Instructions 

  1. 1. Sterilize canning jars and lids in boiling water for at least 5 minutes.
  2. 2. In a large pot, combine vinegar, water, salt, and sugar. Bring to a boil.
  3. 3. Pack green beans, garlic, red pepper flakes, and dill seeds into hot, sterilized jars.
  4. 4. Pour the hot vinegar mixture over the beans, leaving ¼ inch headspace. Seal jars with lids.
  5. 5. Process sealed jars in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes.
  6. 6. Let jars cool, then store in a cool, dark place for at least 2 weeks before eating.
