Feijoada Brazilian Black Bean Stew

Main Ingredients
- 2 cups black beans soaked overnight
- 1 lb pork shoulder cut into chunks
- 1 lb beef chuck cut into chunks
- 1 unit smoked sausage sliced
- 1 unit onion chopped
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 2 units bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- to taste salt
- 4 cups water
1. In a large pot, cook the pork shoulder and beef chuck until browned.
2. Add the smoked sausage, onion, and garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent.
3. Add the soaked black beans, bay leaves, black pepper, and water. Bring to a boil.
4. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 2 hours, or until beans are tender.
5. Season with salt to taste. Serve hot.
