Ingredients

  • 200 g Kefalotyri cheese or other firm Greek cheese
  • ¼ cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 shot Brandy
  • 1 half Lemon for squeezing

Instructions 

  1. 1. Cut the cheese into ½ inch thick slices.
  2. 2. Dredge each slice in flour, shaking off any excess.
  3. 3. Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  4. 4. Fry the cheese slices until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side.
  5. 5. Remove the pan from heat, pour brandy over the cheese, and carefully ignite with a lighter or match.
  6. 6. Squeeze lemon juice over the flaming cheese to extinguish the flame.
  7. 7. Serve immediately with crusty bread.
