Main Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 8 slices Bread preferably rye
- 4 slices Cheddar Cheese
- 1 medium Onion sliced
- 2 tablespoon Butter
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
1. In a mixing bowl, season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Form into 4 patties.
2. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side until cooked through.
3. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add butter and sauté the onions until caramelized.
4. Butter one side of each bread slice. Place 4 slices, buttered side down, in the skillet. Top each with a slice of cheese, a patty, some caramelized onions, and another slice of cheese. Cover with the remaining bread slices, buttered side up.
5. Cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
6. Serve hot and enjoy!
