Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 lbs beef chuck, cut into cubes
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 2 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 large carrots, sliced
  • 2 large potatoes, cubed
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper to taste

Instructions 

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the beef and cook until browned on all sides. Remove the beef and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, add the onions and garlic. Cook until the onions are translucent.
  3. Stir in the paprika and caraway seeds, cooking for another minute.
  4. Add the tomato paste and cook for another 2 minutes.
  5. Return the beef to the pot and pour in the beef broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 1.5 hours.
  6. Add the carrots and potatoes. Cook for another 30 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
