Main Ingredients
- 4 medium Potatoes peeled and grated
- 1 cup All-purpose flour
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 1 large Egg beaten
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- ½ teaspoon Baking soda
- 2 tablespoon Butter for frying
1. Peel and grate the potatoes. Squeeze out excess moisture using a clean kitchen towel.
2. In a mixing bowl, combine grated potatoes, flour, buttermilk, beaten egg, salt, and baking soda. Mix well.
3. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add butter.
4. Drop spoonfuls of the potato mixture into the pan, flattening them slightly with a spatula. Cook until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
5. Serve hot with a dollop of sour cream or applesauce, if desired.
