Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 3 lbs oxtail
  • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoon browning sauce
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 sprigs thyme
  • 2 whole scotch bonnet peppers optional
  • 1 can butter beans, drained

Instructions 

  1. 1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add oxtail and brown on all sides.
  2. 2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, cook until softened.
  3. 3. Stir in browning sauce, beef broth, thyme, and scotch bonnet peppers. Bring to a boil.
  4. 4. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until oxtail is tender.
  5. 5. Add butter beans and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
  6. 6. Serve hot with rice or your favorite side.
