Main Ingredients
- 1 pint Oysters shucked
- 1 cup Milk
- 1 cup Heavy Cream
- 2 tablespoons Butter
- 1 small Onion finely chopped
- 1 pinch Salt to taste
- 1 pinch Black Pepper to taste
- 1 pinch Paprika optional, for garnish
1. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
2. Add the finely chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
3. Pour in the milk and heavy cream, stirring occasionally until the mixture is hot but not boiling.
4. Add the shucked oysters and their liquor to the pot. Cook until the oysters are just cooked through, about 3-5 minutes.
5. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Garnish with a pinch of paprika if desired.
6. Serve hot with crusty bread.
