Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 Green Plantains peeled and cut into 1-inch slices
  • 1 cup Vegetable Oil for frying
  • to taste Salt

Instructions 

  1. Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Fry the plantain slices until they are golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  3. Remove the plantains from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  4. Using the bottom of a glass or a tostonera, flatten each plantain slice.
  5. Return the flattened plantains to the hot oil and fry again until crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Remove from oil, drain on paper towels, and season with salt to taste.
